A little bit about where I was born:

I was born and grew up with my six litter mates at Tierra Alta Kennels in southern California. It was a great time as I was young and had plenty of friends to play with and lots of room to romp and play. There was always something new going on every day and lots of visitors to meet and greet. A night time we could sometimes hear the coyotes howling or the owls screech and I felt very safe in my warm barn with my mother Bella Pamela. Sometimes we would go and visit my dad - Demetrio. He would often be found with many large mastines sleeping in the warm sun. I could never miss him as he had an amazing coat that shone like gold in the sunlight. He was a very friendly and kind mastin and I was always proud of him as he was one of the biggest at the kennels. In spring the California poppies would begin blooming and that was always the best time of year - as the weather was nice and warm and everything looked so pretty. Today although I have a new home close to Lake Arrowhead with my owner Dave and Saint Bernard companion "Leo" and now Newfie "Zen" - I still visit at least every other month to see my breeder Karin and my mom and all the other mastines. You can see some pictures of my first home and some friends below:

Here is Tierra Alta Kennels - my birthplace and first home.

As you can see - spring is beautiful here.

Here is Zaragoza de la Tierra Alta - she and sister Pilar were the first of our breed born here in the USA.

We ALL love to play among the poppies!

This is the exercise compound where a group of female mastines are playing in the snow.

This is a big group of mastin pups at the kennels where I was born. We always had fun in the sun and loved to play ball all day long.

There are new litters born here at different times of the year. These puppies are offspring from my aunt - Ch. Iirismaan Big Babucha. All pretty cute!

As you may already know - my breed originally comes from Spain where my ancestors worked with the sheep flocks in the Spanish Pyrenees mountains. They were guardians against the attacks from the wolves and the bears. Now you can see some pictures from the home country of my ancestors:

Here we are in Spain - the home country of my ancestors.

Here is one of my breed in Spain wearing the traditional "carlanca" - a necklace of iron spikes which protected the neck in case of attack from the wolves or the bears.
